The First Bluetooth Mobile POS Solution of the Market Unveiled at the CEBIT 2003 by Ingenico and Baracoda


HANOVER, Germany--March 19, 2003--Baracoda and Ingenico, the world leader in secure transaction systems, today announced that the first Bluetooth enabled portable payment terminal in the market, the Bluetooth Ingenico 7770 is now paired wirelessly with Baracoda's line of Bluetooth barcode readers.

Bluetooth, the universal and open radio standard, brings highly secure and flexible solutions in the portable payment field. Baracoda and Ingenico have worked together to develop a new portable and secure transactions method using Bluetooth technology.

"This new solution demonstrates our ability to propose innovative solutions bringing enhanced ergonomic and added value to our customers. Ingenico's Bluetooth payment terminals paired with Baracoda's barcode scanners will bring shopping experience and mobile commerce to another level," says Thomas Serval, Baracoda's CEO.

"Baracoda's wireless solutions, combined with Ingenico's expertise in means of payment, will allow our customers to benefit from new functionalities during payment operations says Bernard Morvant, Ingenico's Vice President, Development and Partnerships. The new solution will perfectly suits the needs of the retail, logistics and home delivery sectors.

Various applications, using the Ingenico 7770 and the Baracoda Pencil and CCD scan, will be available for demonstration by both companies at the Cebit Forum in March 2003, in Hanover, Germany. Baracoda will be exhibiting in Hall 27, Booth F15 and Ingenico in Hall 18, Booth A24.
