Fido and Nokia Launch Headturning World Phone in Canada
Exclusive to Fido, Nokia 7210 Offers Polyphonic Tones and High-Resolution Colour Display
MONTREAL--March 25, 2003--Fido is pleased to offer one of the most customizable handsets to hit the market. The new Nokia 7210 is a world phone that features mobile Internet capability and couples a high-resolution colour screen with polyphonic ring tones. In addition to the popular and user-friendly Nokia interface, Fido(R) customers will enjoy an integrated stereo FM radio and speakerphone, and can now download Java(TM) applications and create their own gaming and Web experience.
Fido users can further customize the Nokia 7210's revolutionary design with their own look, sound and applications. With more than 4,000 screen colours, the embedded or downloaded wallpaper patterns always look crisp and clear; and the polyphonic ring tones recreate the sound of multiple musical and percussion instruments, all packed into one phone. Twenty-one polyphonic ring tones are included, any of which can be replaced with your favourite-downloaded from the Web. Customers can even create their own ring tones using Nokia's PC Suite software.
"Our customers are very clear about what they want from their mobile provider, and handset choice is key when shopping for wireless service," said Sean Dalton, Vice-President of Marketing, Microcell Solutions. "Customers want what's hip and the 7210 has the look and the latest features they've been waiting for. Whether you're seriously into fashion and games or you appreciate the speakerphone function and over 500-entry phone book for business, it's one of our most flexible handsets ever."
"It is no secret that wireless handsets have moved far beyond voice," said Grace Belmonte, Director of Marketing, Nokia Canada. "The Nokia 7210 is a globetrotter and Fido customers have access to GSM roaming in an industry-leading 125 countries around the world, as well as to GPRS data roaming in North America."
The Nokia 7210 is priced at $350 after a new activation rebate and is available across Canada in more than 600 corporate and retail partner locations.
