MenuLink's Global Presence and its .NET Technology Trigger Three Nominations as Finalist for Microsoft's 2003 European RAD Award
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 2003--MenuLink Computer Solutions, Inc., the nation's leading independent provider of restaurant back office software, has been chosen as a finalist in three categories for the 2003 European Microsoft Retail & Hospitality Application Developer (RAD) award for their BOA.NET product. The categories MenuLink was nominated in were Hospitality Food Service, Greatest Business Impact, and Best Use of Open Internet Technology. The prestigious award recognizes application developers who make the best use of Microsoft technology to provide business benefits to customers in the retail & hospitality industries.
MenuLink, which has over 6,500 installations in a wide range of restaurants including quick serve, table service, and fast casual, is taking advantage of a variety of Microsoft .NET solutions. MenuLink products help restaurants control food and labor costs to increase their bottom line profits. MenuLink is taking its software technologies for connecting information, people, systems, and devices through .NET technologies.
Ron Whitaker, MenuLink's President and CEO, stated, "We're extremely proud to be a finalist for these three very important awards from Microsoft. Our focus on ease of use for restaurant managers and our ability to help our customers control their expenses has always been important. Continuing to enhance the MenuLink products over the last eight years and keeping our product technically state-of-the-art using Microsoft .NET tools are the key to our success as well as our customers."
Terri Williams, MenuLink's Executive Vice President, said, "The restaurant industry is entering a new world using the latest technology. Using devices such as a PDA, Tablet PC's, Cell Phones, and MenuLink's Mobile Data Viewer, District Managers in the field can access information for their restaurants in real time without carrying a laptop and trying to find a phone line. We're using technology to solve business problems in the restaurant industry. We're very excited to be expanding into the European Market."
MenuLink is the winner of the 2002 U.S. RAD award for Best Back Office, also winning Honorable Mention for their Headquarters product in the HQ Business Intelligence and Analytics category. Gary Cooke, EMEA retail industry marketing manager, Microsoft, said, "The profile of the RAD Awards has grown each year within the developer community, and this has been highlighted not only by the number of entrants but also their wide geographic spread and continued high quality.
