Group Sense PDA Limited Selects Kada Systems to Implement Java 2 Micro Edition on its New Line of PDA Phones

BURLINGTON, Mass.--Aug. 11, 2003-- Kada Delivers a Native Implementation of CLDC/MIDP Optimized for the Palm OS

Kada Systems, a leading independent provider of certified Java(TM) 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME(TM)) software deployment solutions, today announced that Group Sense PDA Limited ("GSPDA"), a subsidiary of Group Sense (International) Limited (GSL, HKEx: 0601) and a leading manufacturer of handheld computers in Asia, has selected Kada to implement their "Java Powered" J2ME solution for use in the newly-announced GSL PDA phone.

The new PDA phone is compatible for GSM 900MHz and 1800MHz systems and provides GSM / GPRS data services for e-mail, WAP, SMS, and J2ME (Java). Group Sense PDA Limited has full product range to fulfill different price points in the marketplace, producing both conventional PDA's and converged products - PDA phones and smartphones. In response to the increasing demand for multimedia and wireless applications, GSPDA has launched a series of innovative products with color screen, built-in digital camera, digital voice recording and embedded Bluetooth(TM) chips. The company has products running on the Linux(TM) OS and the Palm(TM) OS. GSPDA is now selling products to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Middle East and France.

"The Kada Mobile Platform for Palm offers Group Sense PDA Limited a superior, proven J2ME implementation and the exceptional expertise that comes from a company focused on mobile Java solutions," said Jim Acquaviva, CEO of Kada Systems. "Benefiting from the performance, speed and reliability of our J2ME implementations, Group Sense PDA Limited will be able to leverage our proven technical integration capabilities across their line of mobile device solutions. Additionally, as Kada is a licensee of Sun's CLDC HotSpot Implementation, Performance Pack and JTWI (JSR 185), GSPDA can be assured that they will remain current with advances in Java and have access to a continuum of advanced technology and services."

Kada Systems excels in delivering optimized, commercial J2ME platforms that have achieved the "Java Powered" certification and are tightly integrated with the capabilities of the device including multimedia, networking and native graphical "look and feel". Kada Systems' unique blend of Java Virtual Machine expertise, success with independent J2ME implementations, and experience with the Sun Microsystems CLDC HotSpot Implementation, position the company as the industries most capable commercial J2ME provider
