Intergraph Public Safety Launches New Wireless PDA-based Application

... Providing Superior In-the-Field Dispatch Response and Flexibility

INDIANAPOLIS--Aug. 11, 2003-- Automated Field Reporting Also Improved with Remote Real Time Access and Reduced RF Bandwidth Requirement

Intergraph Public Safety (IPS) (NASDAQ:INGR) today announced a new product for wireless handhelds, I/MobilePDA, along with enhancements to its existing Records Management System (I/LEADS-RMS), adding both flexibility and better response capabilities to the IPS suite of integrated products. Using I/MobilePDA, field personnel can securely receive and respond to dispatch events, perform incident queries, and interact via instant messaging with lightweight, low-cost, handheld PocketPCs.

I/MobilePDA is a web-oriented application that runs on a multitude of wireless PocketPCs (V2.5 or higher) using Pocket Internet Explorer and requires minimal hardware resources. Little PDA interaction is needed since it relies on server processing to search both NCIC and local RMS databases.

Automated Field Reporting (AFR), a critical function of I/LEADS-RMS, has been enhanced in response to customer input to provide field officers real-time wireless access to remote records management databases. These enhancements improve not only the efficiency of creating incident reports but also optimize the transfer of queries and responses. The new AFR also generates field-requested information without intervention at the communications center. The end result gives field personnel real-time access to exactly the relevant data needed, while reducing critical RF bandwidth usage and reducing IT administrator involvement.

IPS is demonstrating these products, along with its complete suite of real-time command and control solutions for computer-aided dispatching, mobile computing, and records management, at the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) 69th Annual Conference & Exposition, the largest gathering of public safety communications officials from around the globe.
