MOBILITY ELECTRONICS BECOMES FIRST OFFICE SOFTWARE COMPANY TO JOIN SYMBIAN AFFILIATE PARTNER PROGRAM
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., August 13, 2003 - Mobility Electronics, Inc. (Nasdaq/NMS: MOBE), a leading provider of innovative portable computing solutions for the mobile computer user, today announced it has joined the Symbian Affiliate Partner Program. The program brings together the world's best application, service and content providers whose after-market products enhance the value of Symbian OS(tm)-based
phones to users.
For Mobility Electronics' handheld software group, inclusion in the Symbian Affiliate Partner Program will enable the Company to position its flagship software product, iGo( Quickoffice Premier(tm) Office Suite (Quickpoint(tm), Quicksheet(r), and Quickword(tm) applications), for increased sales opportunities in conjunction with advanced, open Symbian OS mobile phones.
"Symbian OS is the global industry standard operating system and is licensed by Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Siemens, Samsung, Motorola, Panasonic, Sendo, and BenQ," said Charlie Mollo, CEO of Mobility Electronics. With Symbian OS licensees shipping more than 2 million Symbian OS phones in 2002, Symbian OS is experiencing industry-wide support as the global operating system technology of choice for advanced mobile phones. This support is growing rapidly with almost 1.2 million Symbian OS phones shipping in the first quarter of 2003 alone, and more than 20 Symbian OS products from 10 licensees currently in development.
