Touring Club Switzerland launches traffic information system
Olten, Dublin; August 25, 2003 Touring Club Switzerland has recently launched a service for motorists travelling on Switzerland¹s national and regional roads: by dialling the number 163, they now have access to the latest traffic information in German, French and Italian, Switzerland¹s three official languages. This traffic information service enables motorists to plan their travel route, find out about traffic jams and road works, and monitor the situation on mountain passes. The service, developed by the leading Swiss provider of
IT- and voice solutions, Sigma, is hosted on Voxpilot¹s pan-European VoiceXML gateway.
"With this service, TCS meets motorists¹ demands for a more convenient delivery of up-to-date traffic information " says Mr Daniel Zürcher, Managing Director of Sigma. "You don¹t have to rely on the radio to get traffic news, you simply pick up the phone and navigate through a simple menu in order to obtain the information you need."
