Cafe.com to Bring Wireless Internet to Denny's Restaurants Nationwide
LOS ANGELES, CA -- 12/03/2003 -- Cafe.com, a premier wireless hotspot provider, today announced that the company will be bringing wireless Internet access (also known as "Wi-Fi") to Denny's restaurants across the USA and Canada.
Cafe.com will immediately "light up" over 40 Denny's restaurants in cities from California to Florida and will continue to roll out wireless Internet service in Denny's restaurants throughout the coming year.
Cafe.com had been working with the Denny's Franchisee Association for over 4 months to define a wireless Internet service that would fit with Denny's business operations and positively extend the Denny's brand into this new area of restaurant service.
"Denny's had specific requirements such as custom-branding, value pricing, protecting table turnover times and ensuring that Denny's staff would not need to get involved," said Joe Terrel, board member of the Denny's Franchisee Association. "Cafe.com was able to deliver a turnkey solution that met these requirements."
Mr. Terrel continued: "Wi-Fi is the next big thing in restaurants. It will soon be expected by our customers, pretty much as a payphone is expected now. We looked at a variety of solutions from other companies such as Toshiba, T-Mobile and Surf and Sip, but only the Cafe.com product hit the target. The Cafe.com value proposition is unique in the market."
