InMotion’s onBoard HotSpot service allows vehicle passengers to use Wi-Fi enabled notebook computers and PDAs to wirelessly connect to the Internet and corporate networks while traveling to and from the office, the airport, as well as other neighboring cities.

Intel® Centrino™ mobile technology includes a mobile processor, chipset and built-in Wi-Fi capability that have been tested and validated to work together. Intel’s wireless co-marketing access program is designed to accelerate the deployment, awareness and use of public WiFi (802.11) hotspots, and Intel’s Wireless Verification Program includes testing of Intel Centrino mobile technology with various access point devices, software combinations, hotspot locations, and wireless service providers to ensure they are interoperable.

"The verification of our service with Intel Centrino mobile technology is a big win for our customers," said Kirk Moir, President and CEO In Motion Technology. "Intel’s focus on end user experience and superior interoperability in the new Wi-Fi ecosystem is a critical element to adoption of Wi-Fi as a consumer service.”

“We are pleased to be working with Intel to support Intel Centrino mobile technology with our service to provide vehicle passengers a terrific mobile experience when they want to remain connected and productive while in transit” added InMotion’s VP of Global Business Development, Terry Allen.

“As usage of Intel Centrino mobile technology-based PCs increases with mobile professional increases, we expect onBoard HotSpot service to be a distinct competitive advantage for our transportation partners.”

"Wireless connectivity is changing the way mobile professionals use their notebook PCs. Whether at work, at home or in a hotel, people are now able to use their mobile PCs in a whole new way," said Don MacDonald, director of marketing, Intel Mobile Platforms Group.
