WirelessDevNet.com Press Release
AirClic's AC25(TM) Wireless Mobile Information Solutions Work on any Java-capable iDEN Handsets
NEWTOWN, Pa., Dec. 18 -- AirClic today announced support for the iDEN Motorola® i730 handsets as part of a family of AC25(TM) solutions. The solution includes a barcode scanning accessory working within the Java(TM) MIDP and onboard GPS. Customers can use the AC25 with the popular Motorola® i90 or i95cl handsets and seamlessly extend the solution to the new Motorola® i730 model without any changes to the handset application or business processes. All solutions leverage AirClic's powerful Web services to deliver wireless mobile information solutions.
AC25 solution has already been deployed in Korea. It uses the customers' existing i90 handsets and will extend to the new i730 model.
The new AC25 barcode scanner attachment is form-factor independent and can accommodate any battery size. A handsome leather case provides a rugged configuration.
"AirClic's support for the latest iDEN handsets enable customers to enjoy future-proof business continuity with little capital or technology risk," said Peter B. Ritz, AirClic's president and co-founder.
AirClic's wireless mobile information solutions satisfy a critical need -- providing device independence and solution continuity across a wide spectrum of wireless technologies. Companies deploying mobile information solutions face a complex, fragmented technology landscape of devices, operating systems, and wireless networks. This usually means making high capital investment for specialized devices with minimal near-term ROI, or dedicating themselves to a particular handset form factor, operating system, and wireless technology that is quickly made obsolete by the ever-churning technology treadmill.
AirClic overcomes these complexities by providing cost-effective solutions using the latest common off-the-shelf technologies operating over existing wireless networks. New mobile handsets and wireless technologies can be seamlessly deployed across the existing solution.
About AirClic
AirClic Inc. is a Web-based services company providing the mobile information market with quick, low cost, operationally efficient, highly reliable, low risk solutions. It works with public and private sector companies to enable their field workers to wirelessly capture business events using existing business processes and systems. AirClic services work even while without mobile coverage or when the existing business systems are down and confirm the customers' information was delivered, using "at least once" communication technology. The user experience for the field personnel is familiar and simple -- just scan a SmartCode(TM) associated with an event or asset and hear the beep. AirClic's customers and their constituents may see the captured information from any Web-enabled device and may extract it into several multiple back-office systems, such as billing and time management, at any frequency. AirClic charges a recurring service fee for customers to obtain a rapid and often immediate return on investment.
