AudioCodes and VoiceGenie Announce Partnership and Completion of Interoperability Testing
New Integrated Solution Enables Cost-Effective and Flexible Next-Generation Speech Applications Using VoiceXML and SIP
SAN JOSE, Calif. and TORONTO, July 17 - AudioCodes Ltd. (NASDAQ:AUDC) , a leading provider of Voice over Packet (VoP) technologies and systems for converged networks, today announced a strategic partnership and the successful completion of interoperability testing with VoiceGenie Technologies Inc., the world's leading provider of VoiceXML platform solutions. The interoperability testing was performed on VoiceGenie's VoiceXML platform and AudioCodes' IPmedia(TM) 2000 Media Server product.
"AudioCodes views interoperability with VoiceGenie's industry-leading VoiceXML environment as an important next step in the deployment of scalable speech solutions," said Alan Percy, director of software partner business development for AudioCodes. "By combining VoiceGenie's VoiceXML platform and AudioCodes' Media Server and/or Media Gateways, network equipment providers and system integrators will have access to a solution that will more effectively deliver converged services as well as enterprise-based applications such as conferencing. "
"VoiceGenie is pleased to announce this technology partnership with AudioCodes," said Eric Jackson, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for VoiceGenie. "The integration of Voice over IP technologies and SIP features will enable our customers to scale their applications more efficiently and economically."
VoiceGenie and AudioCodes developed, tested and demonstrated a VoiceXML speech application utilizing the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). The application showed a voice-enabled conference bridge that was executed in the VoiceGenie run-time environment utilizing AudioCodes' IPmedia 2000 Media Server to provide the IP-based conferencing facility. The resulting demonstration system allowed callers to speak the name of their conference and then bridged them together via the appropriate shared IP-based conference resources.
VoiceGenie's VoiceXML platform allows enterprises and telecom carriers to develop and deploy sophisticated IVR applications, speech-enabled services, and voice portals. Engineered within a completely open standards-based architecture, it provides for the highest levels of scalability, flexibility, performance, and reliability. With simultaneous support for an unprecedented number of speech recognition and text-to-speech engines, the platform currently delivers large-scale, mission-critical applications worldwide. By offering unique functionality such as background call recording and simultaneous SIP, H.323, and PSTN support, it allows applications to be deployed seamlessly into almost any environment, retaining the investment in these applications even as the environment evolves. By focusing on responsiveness and end-user experience, it increases both customer satisfaction as well as the call automation rate, resulting in savings of up to 90%.
AudioCodes' IPmedia 2000 is a cost-effective, entry-level member of the AudioCodes family of market-ready, standards-compliant media server systems. The IPmedia 2000 is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of applications in a 1U chassis, with flexible densities of up to 480 ports and at an attractive price point. The IPmedia 2000 supports the SIP control protocol and is capable of supporting a variety of media processing functions such as conferencing, tone detection/generation, prompts and announcements playback, trans-coding and audio recording.
