Adjungo Networks, Nomadix Announce Increased Interoperability to Enhance Mobile Operator Wi-Fi Public-access Deployments
Nomadix Adds Support for Adjungo’s Smart Client to its Network Service EngineTM Software
Westlake Village, Calif., July 28, 2003 – Nomadix Inc. (www.nomadix.com), a leader in Public-access solutions, and Adjungo Networks (www.adjungonet.com), a leader in SIM/Virtual SIM security, mobility and management, today announced increased interoperability to further enhance Wi-Fi Public-access deployments. Building upon its interoperability with Adjungo’s MobileGate WLAN Solution, Nomadix has added support for the company’s Smart Client, the MobileGate Client (MGC), to its Network Service Engine software running on its family of Access Gateways. The enhancement allows operators to deploy Nomadix and Adjungo Networks in a Wi-Fi Public-access Network to leverage the existing cellular network infrastructure (GSM/GPRS/CMDA/1XRTT) in order to simplify billing, roaming, provisioning and monitoring.
MGC manages the end-user experience by providing a friendly and feature rich interface that enables remote access to the Intranet, Internet and other network-based services. The client is highly automated and easily activated, offering handoff between WLAN and GPRS networks, and pervasive security through the patent-pending dual scheme of SIM-based and Virtual SIM. MGC is also HotSpot agnostic and supports any type of HotSpot (802.1x or non 802.1x).
