Acotel Group to License helloNetwork Java Video Technology to Deliver Video to Mobile Handsets

BOSTON, MA, USA AND ROME, ITALY– November 5, 2003 -- Acotel (MIB:ACO), the global provider of mobile multimedia platforms and applications, announced today it has selected the helloNetwork helloMobile Java video technology to enrich its product offering for media companies and mobile network operators.

helloNetwork and Acotel have reached an agreement that will include localizing the helloMobile technology for current target markets. Initial deployments will focus on pre-recorded video deliveries and live consumer-originated video feeds to Java-enabled mobile handsets.

Acotel executives unveiled the Company’s latest mobile applications, including those developments resulting from this new partnership with helloNetwork, during the recent CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas.

“Acotel’s market reach and technological expertise will prove indispensable to deploying helloMobile services globally,” said Victor Siegel, CEO, helloNetwork. “helloNetwork in turn is providing Acotel with a unique component of their mobile media solution, which we fully expect will create a wealth of additional revenue streams immediately.”

“The need for video-based applications is continually increasing and we have seen significant interest in these types of value-added services from end users, particularly since the beginning of 2003, said Claudio Carnevale, chairman and CEO, Acotel Group. “The agreement with helloNetwork enables Acotel to deliver video download and play capabilities to its partners, complementing an already comprehensive mobile multimedia offering.”

helloNetwork is scheduled to outfit Acotel’s data centers in Amman, Boston, Dublin, Dubai, Rio de Janeiro, and Rome with its helloMobile Encoder Appliance™ and playback applications.
