OTC Wireless Announces New High-speed 802.11g Networking Adapters That Require No Software
FREMONT, Calif.--Sept. 29, 2003--OTC Wireless, a leading provider of 802.11 and Wi-Fi equipment, announced today that it has released a line of 802.11g high-speed wireless networking adapters: ASR102-G and ACR201-G. The new products allow any Ethernet enabled device to connect to any existing 802.11g or 802.11b wireless networks, and open up the wireless arena for many products that could not have connected to a wireless network before.
The ASR102-G and ACR201-G are compact, lightweight products designed for mobility and portability. Measuring 0.7 inch by 2.2 inches by 4.6 inches, they are the most compact wireless Ethernet adapters in the market. By allowing the radio to pull power from a standard USB port, OTC Wireless has brought to market a truly mobile wireless solution.
The ASR102-G is an 802.11g wireless access point that supports WPA (Wi-Fi protected access) security as well as the standard WEP encryption and is one of the most secure 802.11g access points in the market today.
The ACR201-G is an 802.11g wireless bridge station. The unique design of the ACR product allows it to connect to a product's networking port. By connecting directly to the networking port, there is no software needed to install the ACR201-G. The ACR201-G supports WPA's TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) and PSK (Pre-shared Key) security as well as the standard 64 and 128-bit WEP encryption. It assures maximum security for user's network.
