Trekker for PAC Mate - A GPS-Based Orientation Solution for Accessible Pocket PC Devices
MONTREAL, Oct. 7 - VisuAide is proud to officially launch
Trekker for PAC Mate, an adaptation of VisuAide's latest product: Trekker.
Trekker is a GPS-based orientation solution designed for the visually
impaired. PAC Mate, from Freedom Scientific, is a Pocket PC device used for
notetaking and other data intensive applications.
Trekker for PAC Mate is a WinCE application, adapted for the blind and
visually impaired with talking menus, talking maps and GPS information. It
offers features enabling a blind person to determine its position including
the street address and the surrounding intersections. It also offers search
functions for an exhaustive database of points of interest, such as
restaurants, hotels, office buildings, etc. Trekker for PAC Mate features
unique capabilities for recording voice notes for the creation of user-defined
points, browsing routes off-line, and exchanging routes and points of interest
with other users.
