QUALCOMM Announces Finalists for Inaugural 3G cdmA-List Awards


SAN DIEGO, -- QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced the finalists for the Company's first annual 3G cdmA-List(TM) Awards. After receiving more than 120 nominations from a wide range of companies, public agencies and non profit organizations, 34 finalists have been selected. A total of 11 winners will be chosen and recognized at a private reception in Las Vegas on October 21, 2003 at CTIA Wireless IT(R) & Entertainment 2003.

The 3G cdmA-List Awards will honor leading small, medium and large companies, public agencies and non profit entities for their successful wireless data solutions based on 3G CDMA networks, devices and business applications. The program also recognizes enabling partners, such as hardware and software vendors, consultants and carriers that have supported these organizations with their wireless data deployments.

This year's finalists represent a number of diverse industries including financial services, healthcare, technology, public safety and other service industries. The finalists in each category are:

Two awards will be given in each of the five categories -- one for innovation and the other for impact. Additionally, there will be one Best of Show awarded. The A-List Innovation Award will be presented to winners whose 3G CDMA wireless solution demonstrates creativity of concept and approach, as well as innovation expressed through a unique adaptation to an existing wireless deployment, or as a completely new solution. The A-List Impact Award will honor the organization whose wireless solution demonstrates meaningful results that have made a significant financial, humanitarian or industry impact. The prestigious Best of Show Award will be presented to the organization setting the best example and compelling other companies, public agencies and non profit organizations to take advantage of 3G CDMA wireless mobility.

A panel of distinguished judges will select the A-list winners. Judges include: James Ciriello, executive director, Institute for Leading in a Dynamic Economy, Boston University School of Management; Maryfran Johnson, editor in chief, Computerworld; Mark Desautels, vice president, wireless Internet caucus, CTIA; Iain Gillott, president, iGillottResearch; Bob Egan, president, Mobile Competency; Matt Purdue, editor in chief, Mobile Enterprise Magazine; Charles Nettles, chief technology executive, McKesson Corporation; Perry LaForge, executive director, CDMA Development Group; and Jan Dehesh, vice president of enterprise market development, QUALCOMM.
