IntelliGolf 7.0 Includes GPS, Bluetooth, More Stats for Palm Handhelds and Pocket PCs
CAMERON PARK, Calif.--Oct. 20, 2003--Karrier Communications, leaders in sports enhancing software, today announced its IntelliGolf(R) version 7.0 golf scorecard software for Palm(R) (Nasdaq:PALM) handhelds and Microsoft(R) (Nasdaq:MSFT) Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs at the CTIA Wireless tradeshow. Version 7.0 adds support for the satellite-based Global Positioning System (GPS), Bluetooth, WAAS/SBAS, more golf statistics, and sidegame enhancements. Palm handheld and Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC users will now be able to accurately view distances from tee-to-green using IntelliGolf's embedded IntelliGPS(TM) technology. Shot (e.g. Drive) distances will be automatically fed into the IntelliGolf shot tracking system saving users time on the course. IntelliGolf will support the industry's leading NMEA compliant Bluetooth (i.e. wireless) and serial connected GPS receivers with enhanced WAAS/SBAS accuracy. IntelliGolf is the only golf scoring software to include all 7 S's of golf: Scoring, Shot tracking, 30+ Sidegames, 250+ Statistics, 18,000+ Signature courses, Sharing of information, and now "Satellite GPS." IntelliGolf currently includes free access to the largest international golf course database in the world. At over 18,000 courses, IntelliGolf users are able to download and upload course essentials, course scorecards, and now digital GPS coordinates to the IntelliCourse(TM) database. Each course only takes 5Kb of handheld memory. This will continue to be a free service for IntelliGolf v7.0 users. Competing products charge $9.95 to $19.95 per course download and can each require as much at 100Kb of handheld memory. IntelliGolf has been purchased by customers in over 100 countries and is the leading golf scorecard software for Palm handhelds, Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs, Windows PCs, and Symbian-OS based handsets (e.g. Sony Ericsson P800) worldwide.
Product Overview
With the IntelliGolf scoring software, users simply enter their scores, wagers, and shots into a Palm handheld or Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC instead of using a pencil and paper scorecard. IntelliGolf keeps a running total of their foursome's scores, tabulates all wagers, and synchronizes with the included Windows desktop software. Using the desktop software, golfers can view graphs and statistics on their shots, approximate their handicap, and output scorecards to the Internet.
