Thumbworks Signs BREW(TM) Global Publisher Agreement
- Publisher Also Plans Fall Availability of New BREW-based Titles, Including Babe Ruth(TM) Bashball Game, School of Rock Audition(TM), Jeep(R) Off-road Jam and Element(TM) Surfing by Honda -
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 20 -- Thumbworks Inc., an emerging innovator in the world of wireless publishing, today announced that it has signed an agreement with QUALCOMM to become a BREW Global Publisher (BGP) for applications developed for QUALCOMM's Binary Runtime Environment for
Wireless(TM) (BREW) platform. As a BGP, Thumbworks will publish, market and distribute BREW applications from international developers to operators in the United States.
In addition to the BGP agreement, Thumbworks also announced its intention to deliver several popular branded BREW-based games this fall such as the popular Babe Ruth Bashball, a multi-level game in which users answer baseball trivia and smash homeruns at targets in a variety of venues. Thumbworks is also delivering Jeep(R) Off-road Jam, School of Rock(TM) Audition, Element(TM) Surfing by Honda, Snow Shredder(TM), Leapfrog Bob(TM), PIPES(TM) and Dragon Flight(TM).

QUALCOMM's BREW system provides products and services that connect the mobile marketplace value chain, which includes application developers, publishers, content providers, device manufacturers, operators and consumers.
Publishers and developers worldwide are generating revenue from BREW-based applications and content, and 19 manufacturers have offered more than 90 BREW- enabled device models to consumers. BREW is successfully enabling the commercial wireless data services of many very successful operators, including Verizon Wireless, ALLTEL, Midwest Wireless and U.S. Cellular in the United States, China Unicom, KDDI in Japan, KTF in South Korea, Telstra in Australia, VIVO in Brazil and BellSouth International in Colombia.
