Digia continues to grow in the Symbian OS based smartphone development market


[Helsinki, October 29th, 2003] - Digia, a designer and integrator of Symbian OS based software for smartphone manufacturers world-wide, announces continuous, organic growth for the first three quarters of 2003. First three quarters (Q1-3) of 2003 generated revenues of EUR 11.8m (+36%, 2002) as Q3 revenues were EUR 3.9m (+33%, 2002). During the first nine months company's cash flow was positive and its business profitable. Digia's cash position exceeded EUR 24.4m. "Digia's strong market position is based on our focus and commitment to Symbian OS and the smartphone industry segment including the Series 60 Platform. As manufacturers have ramped up their Symbian OS based smartphone development, we have increased our market share and achieved strong growth and profitability", says Mr. Jari Mielonen, CEO of Digia. Organic growth with active recruitment operations As of October Digia's personnel reached 223 (182, 10/2002). Digia has continued its recruiting operations during the whole fiscal year by hiring over 40 software developers and specialists its branch offices in Finland. To assure managed growth, Digia puts emphasis on continuous competence and process development and is a well-known employer within the industry. In Universumīs independent graduate survey 2003 Digiaīs employer image ranking improved the most among IT companies in Finland. Business operations have been successfully executed and strongly international Digia has established itself as the leading Symbian OS software company that provides a complete set of system integration services and solutions needed for the customer's smartphone product platform creation and development. During 2003 Digia has succeeded in gaining new mobile phone manufacturer customers for system integration operations and technology licensing.
