WIRELESS ALLIANCE EXPANDS THE DELIVERY OF MOBILE INTERNET SERVICES
Ottawa, September 2, 2003 - Simmic.Net Inc of Ottawa, Canada today announced a Strategic Agreement with Kore Wireless Inc of Toronto, ON and Vienna, VA intended to expand their emerging market opportunities and sales channel solutions. The agreement calls for broad cooperation initially focusing on two key initiatives to be introduced before the end of this year.
The Simmic Wireless Web Application Platform (WiWAP) will be marketed by KORE for specific, already identified, customer applications throughout North America increasing immediately the reach for Simmic products. Additionally, Simmic will develop, in partnership with the KORE network, a fully integrated, and branded, end-to-end airtime service for its channels and enterprise partners.
"The global growth of WiFi (802.11) enabled PDA's and industrial devices is creating a demand for easy connectivity for both business and commercial applications. Simmic's WiWAP is a powerful, affordable and innovative product to get these users connected at all times to mobile services. Through this new alliance we can jointly offer the best choice for wireless networking to date. Our customers can enjoy the benefits of a painless end-to-end service experience for implementing their wireless network applications including voice, video and data", said Alex Brisbourne, COO, KORE Wireless. "No longer is the user limited to a cell phone or particular PDA or laptop computer. With this integrated services offering, users can connect to the Internet in the most cost-effective way."
The Simmic platform minimizes the complex challenges of security, access and connectivity to operate TCP/IP applications over wireless networks. The WiWAP enables corporations to rapidly create, implement and manage robust enterprise-wide wireless solutions throughout the organization.
WiWAP enables wireless solutions to be deployed on virtually any wireless device supporting 802.11 and any wireless network technology. The current platform provides 802.11b, integrated Global Positioning Service (GPS), GSM/GPRS, and CDMA/1XRTT. WiWAP addresses the market requirements of today while providing for future expandability. On the current platform, Simmic can add the support of 802.11(a, b, g), 802.16 as well as other services.
The platform also includes a comprehensive toolset for rapid development and deployment of wireless Web Services applications. The WiWAP has been designed from the ground up for integration, including the ability to integrate with existing applications and Web Application Servers.
KORE delivers wholesale, unbundled, GSM voice and GPRS services to the North American market through wholesale airtime services operating on the T-Mobile, Microcell and Cingular networks. As a full MVNO, KORE provides its own rate planning for voice, GPRS data and SMS services, creating rating plans for individuals or corporations, branded as required.
"This alliance further secures our position as a leading wireless technology solution to support the efforts of ubiquitous broadband connectivity for
everyone", said John Roberts CEO of Simmic.Net, Inc. "Our goal has always
been based on a belief that the Internet should be always on/always connected to those that need and want the services it offers. With Simmic's WiWAP, people can be mobile and be connected using the most appropriate tools for that access."
Simmic and KORE view emerging wireless markets as an exceptional opportunity for delivering productivity solutions to a wide range of organizations. With this new platform and a sophisticated continent-wide network, software companies and service providers will develop new applications and services that will be powered by this alliance.
