New York, NY, September 4, 2003 – Top television hits SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, Dora the Explorer, and Jimmy Neutron are among the Nickelodeon favorites now available on wireless phones across the country through the first-ever wireless content distribution arrangement between Nickelodeon and Verizon Wireless. For the first time, families can interact on the go with their favorite Nickelodeon characters via Verizon Wireless’ Get It NowSM service, which allows them access to original and highly differentiated content specifically geared toward families, including polyphonic ringtones, character graphics and wireless games. Through the collaboration, Verizon Wireless customers can download two types of Get It Now content – Nick PhoneTones and Nick-branded games – co-developed by Nickelodeon’s wireless content publishers, Faith West Inc. and THQ Inc.

“Our distribution arrangement with Verizon Wireless is a major component to our ‘Three Screens, One Vision’ strategy that over time will enable millions of our TV viewers, online audiences and other constituents to interact with our brand in innovative ways," said Mike Skagerlind, senior vice president and general manager, Nickelodeon Online. "We’re delighted to add another ‘screen’ through which our audience can play with Nickelodeon – the wireless phone screen.”

“We are excited to offer families the latest in Nickelodeon games and ring tones,” said Jim Straight, vice president of wireless Internet and multimedia services, Verizon Wireless. “Our arrangement with Nickelodeon expands our growing list of brand-name content and helps us to provide fun and familiar games and ring tones to our growing number of Get It Now customers.”

Developed by Faith West Inc., Nick PhoneTones will enable families to choose among more than 30 polyphonic music and voice tones, show theme songs and images to personalize their wireless phones with their favorite Nickelodeon characters. The ring-tones and graphics service will offer families special Nick-branded features like a Blue’s bark from Blue’s Clues ring tone, as well as polyphonic musical ring tones based on SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents and Dora the Explorer theme songs. THQ Inc. will develop and distribute interactive wireless phone games based on Nickelodeon's hit TV properties, the first of which will be a SpongeBob SquarePants dart game.

With a stream of new and enticing applications added nearly every Wednesday, Verizon Wireless Get It Now customers can choose from puzzle and strategy games to action and sports games to the classics based on popular board and television games. In addition to Nick's branded content, Get It Now offers thousands of ring tone selections from pop, Hip Hop, country, classical and holiday-appropriate themes.
