THE EVOLUTION OF ART – THE LAST WORD IN EMBEDDED SPEAKER INDEPENDENT SPEECH INTERFACE SOLUTIONS

Atlanta USA, September 8, 2003 –– ART Advanced Recognition Technologies, Inc., global leaders in User Interface technologies for mobile devices, announces the introduction of its latest embedded speaker independent speech interface solution for wireless mobile devices, smARTspeak XGT™.

A major upgrade of ART’s smARTspeak family, the smARTspeak XGT now adds innovative text-to-speech functions to its best-of-breed phonemic recognition. As its core application, smARTspeak XGT introduces a new voice feedback ability that gives audio confirmation of requested names, numbers and other commands. This comprehensive TTS and Speech Recognition solution enables fast and direct access to the full range of messaging, dialing and browsing applications.

In addition, ART’s new Best Match function provides a short list of closest options for extra ease and speed of choice. These can be presented as either text or voice lists – at the user’s choice. In addition, by enabling total phone operation without the use of hands or eyes, smARTspeak XGT also becomes the next step in hands-free solutions: increasing driving safety and creating a perfect way to activate Bluetooth headsets or car kits. All in all, smARTspeak XGT gives mobile device users new levels of convenience in every scenario.

”With more than a decade of pioneering development, smARTspeak XGT is one of the most exciting solutions for mass-market mobile devices that ART has ever produced,“ said Eran Aharonson, CEO of ART Advanced Recognition Technologies, Inc. “Combining the convenience of phoneme-based speech recognition with the versatility of text-to-speech verbal confirmation, both OEM’s and their customers are going to find in smARTspeak XGT one of the most comprehensive speech interface solutions available.”

smARTspeak XGT keeps the ‘no-training’ instant response to natural verbal commands given by ART’s previous version. Giving equally fast and accurate response whether users say “Call John Smith’s office”, “John Smith, office” or “Dial +1202111002”, smARTspeak XGT maintains ART’s popular out of-the-box, multi-user experience.

Technically, it continues ART’s tradition of optimized delivery of fast and accurate recognition in the tight processing power environment for mobile devices (ARM 7 or similar), with a modular design perfect for deployment across the entire range of mass market handsets – from entry level through to high-end devices.
