MobilePro Corp. Announces ZigBee Integrated Circuit Project With South Korean Research Lab

ROCKVILLE, Md., Sept. 8 -- MobilePro Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: MOBL), an emerging technology company creating scaleable and global wireless technologies and applications, announced today that the company has signed a memorandum of understanding for a joint integrated circuit ZigBee development project with a major Korean research laboratory.

The agreement with RF Microelectronics Laboratory (RFML), which is associated with the Information and Communications University in Daejeon, South Korea, calls for a joint development effort toward developing integrated circuits for radio frequency (RF) transceivers of the ZigBee standard. The integrated circuits will be fabricated in complementary metal oxide silicon (CMOS) processes. The RFML has over the years proven to be a leading design center for highly advanced and sophisticated radio technologies miniaturized on semiconductor chips.

MobilePro CEO Arne Dunhem said, "This is an important agreement since it provides the opportunity for MobilePro to actively design, develop and finally move toward production of highly sophisticated radio frequency CMOS semiconductors in the very exciting area of low-power ZigBee chips. We are delighted and honored to be able to work with the world-renowned semiconductor lab at the Information and Communication University in South Korea under the leadership of Professor Sang-Gug Lee. We believe this will add significantly to the value of our company."

Professor Lee said, "We are very pleased that this agreement with MobilePro gives RFML an opportunity to actively participate in the fascinating new ZigBee project."

MobilePro earlier announced it has begun development of a ZigBee radio frequency (RF) integrated semiconductor circuit. ZigBee is an open standard (IEEE 802.15.4), wireless RF technology that expects to revolutionize low-end RF inter-communications.

The "ZigBee Project" is being carried out by NeoReach, Inc., a wireless technology and semiconductor development company that is a wholly owned operating unit under MobilePro Corp. NeoReach intends to design, patent, and market various wireless technologies and semiconductor devices related to various wireless niche markets. The company was awarded five patents in 2002 in the area of smart antenna and signal processing technologies.

The ZigBee Project calls for the development of a low-cost, low power two- way wireless radio frequency semiconductor communications solution. The semiconductor circuit could potentially be embedded in consumer electronics, home and building automation, industrial controls, PC peripherals, medical sensor applications, remote control toys and games. This leading-edge radio frequency technology has the potential to revolutionize many applications and devices that are used in daily life. ZigBee may be exceptionally suitable for many remote control and automation applications.
