WirelessDevNet.com Press Release

FORRESTER NAMES ALIGO LEADING MOBILE ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS PROVIDER

San Francisco – September 10, 2003 – Aligo Inc., a global leader in world-class, profit-maximizing mobile business solutions, announced that Forrester Research named Aligo the top-ranking mobile enterprise solutions provider in its August 2003 report, “Choosing the Right Mobile Enterprise Application.” Aligo ranked higher than large-scale software vendors Oracle, SAP, Lawson Software and Exact Software.

To create the report, Forrester invited more than 25 enterprise applications vendors to be evaluated. The criteria Forrester used to be considered for evaluation were: support for multiple devices; an ability to connect to enterprise applications; live customers; and product revenues. Forrester noted that 17 of the 25 invited vendors failed to meet its entry criteria to be considered for the report

According to the report, Forrester graded mobile enterprise solutions from a variety of vendors, ranging from smaller firms with specialized mobile enterprise applications to large technology companies that add mobile components to their enterprise backbone applications. Forrester ranked Aligo as the leading vendor based on its complete range of enterprise applications; its open standards design, with comprehensive support for more than 4,400 mobile devices; its offering pre-integrated connectors to enterprise backbone applications; and its development toolkit to extend packaged applications or to build custom applications. For these reasons, Forrester noted, Aligo has persuaded several blue-chip customers, including Sun and Fuji Electric, to become customers.

To define and build its Forrester Wave™ graph, Forrester evaluated vendors based on: current offerings, which include technical specifications and ability to provide online and offline support; each vendor’s strategy, such as short- and long-term visions of how to further develop mobile enterprise applications; and each vendor’s market presence, including its installed base of mobile enterprise applications and business partners. “We’re absolutely thrilled to be selected by one of the foremost analyst firms as the leader in the mobile enterprise applications market,” said Robert Smith, president and chief executive officer of Aligo. “We also appreciate Forrester’s very specific and strict criteria that proves that while there are many vendors touting their mobile offerings, there are very few providing a true enterprise-class solution.”

Aligo's mobile applications help executives, sales teams and field force workers improve their efficiency and productivity by giving them unmatched visibility into - and control over - their mission-critical business information. M-1 Mobile Access provides instant access to groupware for users of Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, IMAP, and Sun ONE Messaging and Calendar Server, allowing busy staff the means to communicate continually. M-1 Mobile Sales and M-1 Mobile Field Service products offer similar advantages to sales and field force employees – the ability to get the data they need to complete their work, even without a wireless connection.
