End2End rolls out mobile digital rights management solution with first customer
September 10, 2003 -- End2End, Europe's leading provider of turnkey Managed Service Solutions for mobile operators, portals and handset manufacturers, today announced that it has rolled out a mobile digital rights management (DRM) solution with the first commercial customer in Europe.
End2End's DRM Solution, which is based on the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) version 1.0 DRM specification, is being used to protect content offered by the pan-European portal. The solution provides the ability to control content distribution and usage through the definition of usage rules for specific content objects, such as the prevention of content forwarding between end-users. New business models are also enabled, through the ability to set time limits and counter limits on content usage. The solution supports handsets that are DRM capable, as defined by the OMA specification.
End2End's DRM solution is delivered as a Turnkey Managed Service Solution for mobile operators, service providers and portals that want to add DRM functionality to content download services, such as downloads of Java games. The solution is among the first commercially available digital rights management solutions in the market and plays a key role in making mobile data more attractive to major content providers.
