Falk City Guide Service - guides you through Europe´s main cities
Berlin / Ostfildern. September 2003. A unique new service is now available for mobile people who like to stay informed about the latest events. gate5 AG has teamed up with Falk.MarcoPolo.Interactive GmbH to develop a City and Event Guide for PalmOS 4.1 that is continuously updated with new information.
Whether you are in Munich or London, Paris or Brussels - the Falk City Guide will keep you fully informed with information on important addresses and events, offer you a unique, ultra-fast street map and route planner and extensive personalization options.
The Falk City Guide allows you to:
* pinpoint and define your own location or any other address,
* search within convenient categories, sorted by distance from this location, and
* navigate the fastest and most direct route using the integrated route planner.
The comprehensive Falk database contains a large range of up-to-date information in the categories Conferences & Transport, Hotels, Restaurants, Museums & Sights, Shopping, Entertainment and Golf Clubs. All categories can be easily and conveniently sorted and accurately filtered into sub-categories. Moreover the guide provides an event calendar with an integrated update function so that you will always have the latest information at your fingertips. Planning that trip to London has never been so easy: synchronize with the Internet just before you leave and download the latest updates onto your PDA. You will then have all the information you need while being away: a mid-price restaurant in Notting Hill, the opening hours of the Tower Museum or show times for musicals in the Westend. Quickly find what you are looking for and click on it to create an entry in your calendar.
As they already showed with the Falk City Guide for PocketPC, gate5 is has once again demonstrated their expertise in creating a unique and intuitive user interface design that allows users to find what they are looking for with the utmost ease and precision. The gate5 map technology makes navigating on the handheld an experience. The Falk City Guide is available for PalmOS 4.1 and higher, and has been initially optimized for the Sony CLIÉ whose impressive features and large, high resolution screen make it a most favorable platform for this service.
Every user will have the opportunity to test the service for 45 days, free of charge and with no obligations. All you need to do is register under www.falk.de/cityguide in one of the three languages offered (German, English or French). You can then download the software, install it on your PDA with one click and off you go: Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, The Hague, Dublin, Edinburgh, Geneva, Hamburg, London, Lyons, Manchester, Munich, Paris, Vienna and Zurich.
The number of cities you can have installed simultaneously is only limited by the available device memory - cities can be installed and deleted at will. The simple PDA menu operation allows you to download - by synchronizing - additional cities onto your PDA at any time, or to delete installed cities. In addition you can also store these cities on external memory cards (i.e. MemorySticktm).
On expiry of the 45-days free version users you subscribe to the service for a mere EUR 24,95 for 12 months. This grants access to all cities, as well as data including up-to-the-minute updates. Payment is by credit card over a secure SSL connection. Imagine! The cities of Europe in your pocket for whole a year! Furthermore the range of cities will be continuously extended over the next year.
