Telcontar and TransDecisions Announce Strategic Alliance
San Jose, CA – September 22, 2003 – Telcontar, the leading supplier of software and related services for location-based services (LBS) and TransDecisions, the leader of software solutions for optimizing enterprise logistics and transportation applications, today announced a worldwide cooperative marketing agreement. Under the agreement both companies will be able to add value for their customers by offering additional products as needed. TransDecisions will offer Telcontar’s Drill Down Server(TM) spatial software platform as an option for their fleet logistics customers, while Telcontar will offer TransDecisions’ patented geocoder for customers requiring high volumes of batch geocoding for vehicle telematics, wireless LBS and mobile resource management. In both cases the result will be faster, more flexible and more scalable solutions with improved customer value and return on investment.

The TransDecisions Fleet Logistics Solution (FLS) is a high performance routing and scheduling engine, specifically designed for high-volume decision environments such as Web-driven applications, decision analysis and real-time logistics. The TransDecisions FLS using Telcontar technology will enable field service organizations to manage their fleet assets more effectively, improve field operations and increase customer satisfaction while cutting costs.
The Drill Down Server enables a variety of location-based applications that can be accessed using Internet browsers, cell phones, call centers, Pocket PCs, PDAs and in-vehicle telematics units. Features of the Drill Down Server include route calculation and image display, geocoding accuracy and inferred address capability, ODBC compliance and integration of traffic information to support operations such as real-time traffic flow monitoring by route and rerouting around congested road segments.
