TVG Technologies Ltd. Teams Up With Intel Corporation to Offer a New Smart Mobile Computer
JERUSALEM, Israel, April 1-- TVG Technologies Ltd. (TVGTF.PK), one of the world's leading providers of secure smart card crypto interfacing systems, announces today the completion of development of a new pocket-size computer named SmartNet. SmartNet's main technologies are based on intel XScaleŽ technology from Intel Corp. (INTC) and a number of other important technologies, like GPRS cellular modem from Motorola (MOT), WiFi, Bluetooth, contact & contactless EMV smart card readers, SD/MMC flash disk, 3.5" to 17" LCD screens with touch panel, Ethernet, PSTN modem, USB host, biometrics (fingerprint reader), mouse and keyboard. SmartNet is supported with Microsoft's (MSFT) embedded operating system, Windows CE.NET in combination with SmartChip's high security service provider software.
SmartNet is available to OEM manufacturers as a single board for integration in advanced products such as credit card POS terminals, thin client computers, IP smart phones, wireless data communications and more.
The SmartNet product and the applications are targeted to several market segments, such as: military, government, health, banking, security and communications.
TVG has received a letter of intent from a new customer who wishes to purchase over $1,000,000 of the SmartNet product, which will be available for shipment in the fourth quarter of 2004.
TVG believes that SmartNet will be a cost-effective solution for a wide range of applications and will fuel an appreciable increase in TVG's business volume, making it one of the leading market players. The market for SmartNet type devices is estimated at tens of millions of units per year.
Chaim Weinman, TVG's CEO stated, "SmartNet is the only smart mobile computer available in today's market with a range of options and applications, including full support for e-signature and very high security. The price for products based on SmartNet will be in a range of $250 to $500 giving the OEMs the opportunity to offer their customers the most sophisticated mobile computer and communications devices".
TVG is planning to expand to new facilities in Israel and Canada and to hire more staff for manufacturing and international marketing.
TVG is planning to raise $3,000,000 by offering investors to share in the profits from the SmartNet project. In addition, TVG will grant options of the company's stock to the new investors.
