Cognitronics Completes Interoperability Testing

DANBURY, Conn., April 8 -- Cognitronics® Corporation (Amex: CGN - News) announced today the successful completion of interoperability testing between its CX Media Server and CX Messaging System and Cedar Point Communications' - SAFARI C3(TM) Media Switching System, providing an accelerated path to implementation of voicemail and unified messaging applications for cable operators.

The CX Messaging System delivers the latest in messaging functionality such as visual voicemail, email and outdial notification, voice email (TTS), integrated unified messaging mailboxes, reply-to-live, and auto attendant capabilities for both business and residential applications.

SAFARI C3 supports both circuit and packet based traffic in one PacketCable-based voice switching chassis. The interaction between SAFARI C3 and the CX Messaging Server and CX Media Server is built under the control of SIP and VoiceXML, making additions and enhancements practical and affordable.

"SAFARI C3 is designed from the ground up for cable operators," said Brian Kelley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cognitronics. "Traditionally, cable operators have had to install and manage separate, high cost, high complexity network elements, typically from any number of vendors. The Cedar Point solution is by far simpler and cost-effective."

"As cable telephony is deployed in the coming year, we will need to work with our customers to tailor solutions to their needs," said George Kassas, co-founder and executive vice president, operations and business development for Cedar Point. "Interoperability with Cognitronics enables us to offer our customers the ability to take advantage of the compactness and cost-effectiveness of the CX Media Server and CX Messaging System products."
