WirelessDevNet.com Press Release

ZIO Interactive Extends Its Licensing Contract with Summus, and Includes New Mobile Games

RALEIGH, N.C.--April 13, 2004--Summus, Inc. (USA) (OTCBB: SUMU), a developer of applications and information processing tools that optimize the wireless multimedia experience, and ZIO Interactive, a leader in mobile gaming, today announced that they are extending their mobile games contract for two additional years. This means that Summus will continue to distribute Nineball, Ultimate Golf Challenge, Fun2Link, Blue Marine and Metalion in North America, South America and Australia. Plus, the companies have plans to launch as many as five additional branded games in 2004.

Summus will evaluate the catalog of ZIO Interactive games that have seen success in Asian markets. Games that can be branded with a well-known entity in North America will be made available for carriers.

The mobile gaming market continues to grow quickly. According to a recent study by The Research Room, the global market for wireless gaming services will grow from $561 million last year to $41.3 billion in 2007. Java- and BREW-based downloadable games will lead the charge, with 146 million users by 2007.

The additional games are targeted for release throughout 2004 and will be developed on QUALCOMM's Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless(TM) (BREW(TM)) and Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME(TM)) platforms.

"Summus has been a great partner for us, which is why we want to extend our contract for an additional term," said Peter Kim, president and CEO of ZIO Interactive. "The company has successfully promoted and launched our games with many of the best-known wireless operators in North America."

"ZIO Interactive offers great game titles that we are confident we can brand by partnering with well-known content companies," said Gary Ban, CEO of Summus. "Branded applications associate a well-known name with the mobile game experience, which in turn provides higher subscriber rates."
