WirelessDevNet.com Press Release
ORATIVE ACQUIRES ASSETS OF BONITA SOFTWARE INC.
SAN JOSE, Calif. - April 26, 2004 - Orative, a pioneer in the development of mobile voice applications for the enterprise, announced today that it has acquired the assets of Bonita Software, based in Raleigh, NC. Under the terms of the agreement, Orative acquired several patent pending technologies, tools, and other intellectual property. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Bonita Software has been a leading-edge firm responsible for developing an advanced wireless framework called ToGo Mobile Solutions. Orative will use Bonita's assets to strengthen its ability to develop, deploy, and optimize enterprise applications designed to run across a wide variety of mobile phones and wireless network technologies.
"This acquisition aligns with our strategy to keep the mobile phone experience simple as it becomes a platform for increasingly complex applications," said Paul Fulton, president and CEO of Orative. "Bonita's assets complement our current technologies, and ensures our ability to deliver advanced voice solutions in a manner that minimizes total cost of ownership for Orative solutions."
Earlier this year, Orative announced that it commenced trials of its innovative mobile telephony software with a select number of large enterprises. Trial participants are testing a pre-commercial version of the Orative solution, which combines 'presence' and 'availability' with other advanced capabilities to provide better coordination of voice communications across teams. The commercial version of the product is scheduled for release later in the year.
