Cingular Wireless Selects Openet Telecom to Enable Value-Based Services
DUBLIN, Ireland & RESTON, Va.--April 29, 2004--
Openet Telecom, a world leader in convergent mediation, real-time charging and adjunct rating, today announced that Cingular Wireless has selected Openet's FusionWorks Mediation to support delivery of their multimedia messaging services (MMS) and short messaging services (SMS). This includes instant messaging, corporate email access, text messaging, game and ringtone downloads, photo sharing and wireless internet access. Openet's FusionWorks Mediation also plans to support the roll-out of future data services.
The Yankee Group, a leading communications research firm, expects overall data revenues, which include SMS and MMS, to reach $12.94 Billion by 2007, with U.S. subscriber rates reaching 69.2 Million.
