AppForge Announces New Version of Award-Winning Crossfire Product


ATLANTA, Aug. 2 -- AppForge, Inc., the leader in multi- platform mobile and wireless application development solutions, today announced the immediate availability of AppForge Crossfire 5.1, an update to its award-winning AppForge Crossfire product. Crossfire 5.1 includes enhancements and performance improvements such as new device and camera support, as well as telephony support for Pocket PC.

With Crossfire 5.1, AppForge increases its position as the leader in the industrial mobile application development space with added support for new rugged devices from industry leaders Intermec Technologies Corp. and HHP. Crossfire 5.1 now provides bar code and camera support for the HHP Dolphin 9500, Intermec 700 Series devices and bar code support for the Intermec CK30.

Additional features of AppForge Crossfire 5.1 include:

  • SMS support for Pocket PC
  • PIM Library support for Palm OS
  • Full screen support for Pocket PC
  • Validating event support

    Many high-end enterprise and industrial mobile devices include built-in digital cameras. AppForge Crossfire has supported image formats produced by these cameras for several years. In Crossfire 5.1, AppForge added direct support for these cameras in mobile devices including Nokia Series 60, palmOne Zire 71, Sony Clie, Treo 600 and others.
