Beiks Announces Greek Talking Phrasebooks for Palm OS Handheld Computers
DALLAS -- August 16, 2004 -- Olympic athletes and fans from all over the world are converging on Athens for the start of the 2004 Summer Olympiad. As if world class competition and dealing with hordes of people were not grueling enough, overcoming language hurdles will be one of the toughest challenges faced over the next couple of weeks. To help ease the language barrier faced by English, German, Spanish, French and Italian athletes and fans, Beiks LLC announces the launch of the company’s first Greek Talking Phrasebook for Palm OS handheld computers.
Beiks LLC, the world leader in reference and language titles for mobile devices, has enabled anyone with a Palm OS PDA or smartphone (such as the popular Treo 600) to quickly look up commonly used words or phrases in their native language and hear the phrase verbally stated in Greek.
This particular talking phrasebook is the first to leverage Beiks’ new dictionary engine, allowing users to install the phrasebook without requiring a localization toolkit—a savings of US$20 to $40.
Beiks’ collection of dictionaries is the largest assortment of international dictionaries and phrasebooks available for mobile devices. International travelers can pick from among a large assortment of phrasebooks and dictionaries for most commonly used languages.
