MFORMA Acquires UK-Based Mobile Games Developer Blue Beck
BELLEVUE, WA and MANCHESTER, UK — August 26, 2004 — MFORMA Group Inc., the world’s largest mobile entertainment publisher, has acquired Blue Beck, one of the industry’s most technically-advanced and successful mobile games developers. Founded in 2001, Blue Beck has for the last three years been at the forefront of computer and mobile games development, creating top titles for leading console and mobile game makers Electronic Arts, THQ, Jamdat, and MFORMA, and building an impressive catalog of content, which includes some of the industry’s most compelling titles. Blue Beck has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of MFORMA with all employees remaining and continuing to operate from Blue Beck’s Manchester location.

Blue Beck was founded in 2001 by games industry veteran Peter Scott and Eric Hobson, an experienced marketing and international business development executive. The Blue Beck team they built comprises some of the industry’s best talent with unsurpassed expertise in Java games development. The team’s depth of experience has made them a leader in developing winning, graphically-rich mobile and computer games as well as other interactive applications, which have garnered wide acclaim and excellent reviews from independent reviewers. Peter Scott will continue to run the Manchester development studio and Eric Hobson has been appointed commercial director for MFORMA’s European region.
