Sprint Launches New Live Webcam Application For Mobile Handsets
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Aug. 30 -- Sprint (NYSE: FON) today
announced EarthCam Mobile, a new webcam application, available on select
Sprint PCS Vision(SM) Phones. EarthCam Mobile is a wireless Java application
with an online companion site ( http://mobile.earthcam.com ) that enables
people to view webcams from around the world, including their own, on a mobile
phone. EarthCam is the recognized leader in providing live streaming video
webcam software and technology solutions and delivers millions of live images
to users each day.
Sprint PCS Vision customers who subscribe to EarthCam Mobile will have the
ability to broadcast and share live images from their personal PC-mounted
webcam right onto their phone. Customers can also view images from webcams
located around the world, including traffic and weather webcams, and search
content provided by EarthCam Mobile. To search customized local content,
Sprint PCS Vision customers are able to simply input their zip code.
Customers can access EarthCam Mobile by going to Downloads>Applications>Get
New>Tools on their Sprint PCS Vision Phone. EarthCam Mobile is available for
$4.95 per month.
