Leap Adds RealTone JukeBox Music Downloads to Its Cricket Clicks Suite of BREW-Based Mobile Apps

SAN DIEGO-- Dec. 16, 2004 -- Leap Wireless International, Inc. (OTCBB:LEAP), a leading provider of innovative and value-driven wireless communications services, is enhancing its Cricket Clicks(TM) suite of BREW-based mobile applications with the addition of RealTone JukeBox. Dubbed as one of the hottest applications for downloading real music to a mobile phone, RealTone JukeBox lets Cricket Clicks(TM) subscribers download clips of their favorite music to their mobile phone to play when they have an incoming call.

"Personalizing your mobile phone is more popular than ever and with the addition of RealTone JukeBox, our Cricket Clicks(TM) customers will have another outlet for self expression," said Nitu Arora, vice president, product development for Leap. "Since RealTone JukeBox provides our customers access to such a wide range of music genres and artists, we believe that it will be an attractive feature for a large cross-section of our customer base."

"RealTone JukeBox is updated daily so Cricket Clicks(TM) subscribers now have access to the artists they love including classic rock, country, hip hop, pop, rap, reggae and more," said Ted Suh, Chief Marketing Officer, 9 Squared, Inc. "Additionally, Cricket Clicks(TM) customers can personalize their incoming calls by selecting a range of music to match up with the callers in their contact list. For example, if a subscriber's friend is a hip hop fan, he or she might download a Lil' Jon track to play when they call. This same user might also download a classic rock song by The Doors to play when he or she gets a call from a different friend."

With just a few simple clicks, customers with a Cricket Clicks(TM)-enabled phone and an activated Cricket Clicks(TM) service account can easily navigate through the Cricket Clicks(TM) catalog and choose the RealTone JukeBox application. The application will then be automatically downloaded to their phone, and the customer can select one of three credit packages, which include: 1 credit (song) for $2.99, 3 credits for $8.49, or 5 credits for $12.99. Upon selecting the credit package, the user can then surf the easy-to-use music catalog and make their music selection.

In addition to RealTone JukeBox, several other innovative wireless data applications are available through Cricket Clicks(TM), including wallpapers, games, entertainment, sports information, weather, entertainment guides, e-mail and other personal and business content. A full listing of Cricket Clicks applications can be found at www.mycricket.com.

Cricket Clicks(TM) is currently available in 25 Cricket(R) markets. Leap anticipates that Cricket Clicks(TM) will be available in all of its 39 Cricket(R) markets by early 2005.
