Exor announces Global launch of PDA software for Mobile Workforce

Bristol, United Kingdom, 20 December 2004: Exor, the world's leading provider of highways management software, today unveiled a mobile computing software suite, ePAQ(tm), for PDA use (Personal Digital Assistant).

The ePAQ software provides dedicated tools to satisfy the unique demands of mobile workers who work with bridges and structures, street works and roads.

Remote site inspection can now be completed and validated onsite and fed back to the administration centre through a two-way online data feed. This functionality eliminates the need for paper based reporting systems, promotes efficient working practices and provides cost effective mobile working solution.

ePAQ delivers state-of-the-art mobile computing solutions which enable organizations to access on-line data in the field, in turn reducing costs by improving productivity and accuracy.

Ian Ackerman, Network Engineer, Highway Management, Hampshire County Council commented on ePAQ: "At Hampshire we recognize the significant efficiency and service delivery benefits of using remote data collection as part of our highway maintenance duties.

"The use of ePAQ(tm) will allow resources to be focused on inspections rather than administration tasks and with the automated uploading of inspection results we'll also see significant reductions in the number of errors inherent with 'manual' handling of data."

Steve Smith CEO of Exor: "We've launched the first three software lines of ePAQ which are dedicated to structures, street works and maintenance manager. We're also in the advanced development stages of providing spatially enabled PDA software for these and other application areas.

"At Exor we can really see the benefits that can be achieved with the rollout of ePAQ within an authority. It will provide true efficiency savings, encourage good working practices and above all to help those who manage the assets in a truly mobile environment. ePAQ further enhances Exor's position as the leading software supplier in the highways marketplace."
