WirelessDevNet.com Press Release

Bitstream and Mediaconcept Bring ThunderHawk to European Market

TORINO, ITALY and CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, USA - Mediaconcept and Bitstream Inc. (NASDAQ: BITS) announced today that Mediaconcept, a major European reseller located in Torino, Italy, will begin working with European companies to license ThunderHawkTM for corporate and carrier use. ThunderHawk is Bitstream's breakthrough mobile browsing technology that allows anyone with an Internet or wireless connection to browse the Web anytime, anywhere.

"We are excited to be working with Bitstream, a leader in mobile browsing technology," explained Paolo Rossi, Founder and President of Mediaconcept. "Mobile workers need to connect to corporate networks from different places and at different times. ThunderHawk is the only wireless web solution that delivers the real desktop browsing experience to the mobile manager."

"As wireless connectivity becomes available in more and more places, we are starting to see the technical and economic advantages of mobile applications. I'm very enthusiastic about the potential for ThunderHawk to take flight in Europe, and I'm happy to have a key partner like Mediaconcept working with us to explore this opportunity," said Anna Chagnon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bitstream. "Companies need access to crucial corporate data, whether on the road or in the office. ThunderHawk gives mobile workers the ability to communicate and do their daily business anytime, anywhere - and automatically, without having to think about it."

About ThunderHawk
ThunderHawkTM is a breakthrough mobile browsing technology that brings the desktop browsing experience to Pocket PCs and cell and smart phones. It gives customers complete Internet access to real Web pages while displaying readable, legible text and crisp, sharp graphics.

A client-server technology, ThunderHawk relies on a server infrastructure combined with a small piece of thin-client code on the actual handheld device. The server infrastructure removes complexity from the handheld devices. It also transmits Web content in a more compact format to the handheld device, making fast and full-featured wireless Web browsing possible.

ThunderHawk does not rely on WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) or cHTML (Compact HyperText Markup Language). This removes the need for Web content developers to create separate Web sites optimized for small devices, or for companies to license separate software that converts Web sites into a format appropriate for cell phones.

By delivering full-featured Web browsing to mobile devices, ThunderHawk gives customers the same browsing experience on a wireless device as they are used to on the desktop.

ThunderHawk Enterprise Server
ThunderHawk Enterprise Server is a client-server technology for corporations and telecommunications companies. Providing wireless Web browsing across networks, it gives a mobile workforce complete access to Internet and corporate intranet Web pages.

ThunderHawk SmartPhone Edition
Now in alpha release, ThunderHawk SmartPhone Edition enables consumers to browse the Web on smart phones. It enables a smart phone with a 176x200 color LCD screen to display an 800x946-pixel Web page.

ThunderHawk Pocket PC Edition
ThunderHawk PocketPC Edition allows consumers to browse the Web on Pocket PC devices. It enables a Pocket PC with a 320x240 color LCD screen to display a legible SVGA (800x600) or VGA (640x480) screen of a Web page.
