Vancouver, BC, February 12, 2004 – WINBC along with key partners Nokia, Telus Mobility and Leading Edge BC, is reminding application developers that the deadline for the Wireless Innovation Contest 2004 is just days away.

The competition gives contestants the chance to measure up their applications against other commercial and student developments. It presents five categories for participants to enter their developed (an original commercial release of less than six months) application using PCS, WiFi, Bluetooth and/or any other industry accepted standard in a connected wireless environment:

1. Games and Entertainment
2. Business: an application designed to solve a business need
3. Public Sector: an application designed to meet the needs of healthcare, Government, educational institutions, etc.
4. Collaboration: an application that resulted from the collaboration of two or more businesses or organizations
5. Student: student entries that fall into one of the above four categories. Student entries will be judged against other student entries only.
Contestants can learn more about entry requirements and rules at www.winbc.org/contest.
