TestQuest Automates Testing With TestQuest Pro
MINNEAPOLISFeb. 17, 2004--TestQuest Inc., a leader in automated test solutions for pervasive devices and applications, today introduced the newest version of TestQuest Pro, an automated testing platform. TestQuest Pro functions like a human user of handsets, PDAs, mobile software applications and other devices with embedded technologies allowing companies to reach the market faster with greater quality at a lower cost.
Unlike other test automation tools, TestQuest Pro offers non-intrusive testing of mobile and wireless devices and applications that mirrors the actual user experience, cutting test time up to 90 percent compared with manual testing methods. The open and scalable platform allows complete and comprehensive end-to-end testing of almost any device or application.

The TestQuest Pro platform covers a broad range of test applications, including functional, regression, stress, performance and interoperability testing. It can simultaneously run different tests on multiple, different systems under test. TestQuest Pro interacts with each system under test through its human interfaces such as the touchscreen, keypad, LCD and audio.
TestQuest Pro has connectivity capabilities to test almost any device or application. The latest release includes new interfaces which provide easier, more cost effective connectivity between the TestQuest Pro platform and Symbian OS-based products including Series 60(TM) and UIQ(TM) and Microsoft OS-based products including Windows CE(TM), PocketPC(TM), Smartphone(TM) and Windows Desktop(TM). The release also includes enhanced Intelligent Text Recognition which will greatly improve ease of use.
TestVerb Technology(TM)
TestQuest also offers the patent-pending TestVerb Technology (TVT) which with TestQuest Pro speeds test development and reduces testing costs. TVT provides the test automation architecture, methodology and script development environment for easy creation and maintenance of automated test cases. It enables the re-use of test scripts across multiple platforms and the sharing of them across different organizations such as a service provider and a handset manufacturer.
TVT includes industry-specific test vocabularies and pre-built commands for rapid test start-up and efficient scripting while incorporating defined coding standards and best practices. Unlike other scripting environments that use tool-specific terms and if/else logic or other programming terms, TVT scripts are in simple, intuitive test case terms.
By using an object-oriented approach, TVT offers a proven alternative to capture-replay. When the system under test changes, rather than having to update the script, the developer simply updates the abstraction of the system under test. As a result, users can create scripts that can be easily and immediately used over and over again.
TestQuest is leading the definition of standard mobile TestVerbs--the industry-standard software functions for transferability of test scripts-- with the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA).
