Nextair Selected To Mobilize Onyx Environmental Group
WINDSOR, ON, Feb. 18 - Nextair Inc. (TSX:NXA), a leading provider
of wireless platforms and applications, announced today that Onyx
Environmental Group has selected Nextair's secure AIRIX Wireless
Environment(TM) to increase the efficiency of Onyx's services, specifically to
Westminster City Council.
Onyx (www.onyxgroup.co.uk), a leading provider of environmental services,
currently services five million residents in the United Kingdom. Onyx provides
refuse collection, street cleaning, civic amenity, integrated waste, recycling
and landfill. Onyx selected AIRIX to help them meet the contractual demands
placed on them by Westminster City Council when responding to incident
requests. Onyx will use Nextair's technology to pass wireless information to
its workforce to increase the responsiveness and effectiveness of their
services. Onyx will equip their workers with Blackberry handheld devices from
RIM and, using Nextair's AIRIX Wireless Environment and Vodafone's GPRS
network, Onyx will deploy a client application to gain instant visibility to
the status of each job. This wireless application will allow the company to
proactively address potential service issues and to greatly increase their
efficiency. The initial roll out will be with Westminster City Council.
Success with this project may result in Onyx deploying the solution to its
other boroughs across the UK.
