Opera 7 now on PDA: Sharp Again Goes for Opera in New SL-6000

Oslo, Norway -Sharp and Opera Software announced that Opera is included on the new Sharp Zaurus SL-6000 Personal Mobile Tool.

SL-6000 is the first embedded device to feature the power of the new Opera 7 for embedded devices. Opera was included in the SL-6000's predecessor, the SL-5500, receiving praise from media and users alike.

"The combination of the new Zaurus SL-6000 and the latest version of Opera is a mobile professional's dream come true. Geared for corporate users, the SL-6000 was designed from the ground up to be a powerful and flexible personal mobile tool enabling mobile corporate customers to seamlessly connect to critical enterprise data no matter where they are," said Steve Petix, associate vice president of Sharp's Solutions Division. "Its extensive expandability as well as embedded Wi-Fi capabilities, large VGA screen and easy-to-use keyboard make it an ideal business tool. The Opera browser represents class-leading capabilities for a seamless online experience when working remotely."

"The Sharp Zaurus is the first device to demonstrate the power of the newly developed Opera 7 for embedded devices," says Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software ASA. "Users will enjoy both the new incremental rendering and an improved JavaScript rendering engine. Both advances dramatically speed up Opera's page loading.
