Red Mountain Machinery Installs Entire Fleet with QUALCOMM's GlobalTRACS Equipment Management System
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 13--QUALCOMM Incorporated
(Nasdaq: QCOM), a leader in providing wireless data solutions, today
announced that Red Mountain Machinery, a leading supplier of heavy equipment services
in
the Southwest, is equipping its entire fleet with QUALCOMM's GlobalTRACS(R)
equipment management system. Red Mountain joins the growing number of
rental
equipment companies that are experiencing the benefits of the GlobalTRACS
system, which provides reliable equipment operating data to help enable
accurate rental billing of customers, helps increase revenues and equipment
productivity, and helps reduce maintenance and administrative costs.
"As a market-leading supplier for heavy equipment in the rental
industry,
Red Mountain is an ideal partner for QUALCOMM," said Tim Lewis, senior
director of construction equipment operations for QUALCOMM Wireless Business
Solutions. "The addition of the GlobalTRACS system allows Red Mountain to
integrate wireless equipment management solutions into its existing business
operations, in addition to remotely monitoring engine hours and location
information for all of its heavy equipment rentals."
"We have incorporated the GlobalTRACS system into our day-to-day
business
operations," said Jay Dee Sale, director of parts and service for Red
Mountain
Machinery. "Keeping track of equipment is an essential factor in our
company's success, and GlobalTRACS' integration has enabled us to see
measurable productivity gains."
QUALCOMM's GlobalTRACS system is a complete, turnkey equipment
management
solution, offering ruggedized hardware, state-of-the-art network services
and
extensive data integration capabilities. QUALCOMM's Network Management
Center, one of the world's largest and most reliable wireless data networks,
provides wireless service and monitoring support for the GlobalTRACS system.
The GlobalTRACS system delivers value to equipment rental fleets and
contractors by helping reduce maintenance costs, increase billing accuracy,
improve customer service and reduce equipment theft and misuse.
Founded in 1986, Red Mountain's company philosophy has been to provide
the
best possible value for the mutual benefit of its employees, their customers
and vendors. Red Mountain started out with a small fleet of 13-14 machines
and today has three locations and more than 75 employees. While Red
Mountain's rental fleet consists of mostly Caterpillar equipment, it handles
Volvo articulated trucks and is an authorized dealer for Maintainer service
trucks.
QUALCOMM has helped the transportation industry become more efficient
since 1988 when the introduction of the OmniTRACS(R) mobile communications
system provided transportation companies with an innovative and effective
way
of managing logistics. Today, QUALCOMM's fleet management solutions
continue
to set the standard by offering products and services that meet and exceed
the
demands of a constantly changing marketplace. Now with OmniExpress(R), a
CDMA-based digital wireless communications and tracking system;
GlobalTRACS(R), an equipment management system for the construction
equipment
industry; and other industry-leading technologies, QUALCOMM continues to
expand into new mobile markets.
