John Sculley Joins OpenPeak Board of Directors

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA – January 26, 2004 – OpenPeak Inc., a leading software company focused on creating user interfaces for WiFi control of consumer electronics, digital media, computers and home systems, today announced the election of John Sculley to its Board of Directors. Sculley, former CEO of Apple and the Pepsi-Cola Company and renowned technology visionary, will lend his legendary acumen in consumer marketing and global business operations to OpenPeak’s senior management team.

“As more and more consumer electronics, digital media, computers and related technologies make it into mainstream homes, the need for a simple way to control them becomes urgent for the everyday consumer. OpenPeak’s Thinking Homes software provides an inexpensive, easy way to enable a wireless control interface and put it in the hands of everyday users,” said Sculley. “OpenPeak is in the right place at the right time to fill a critical gap in the rapidly-emerging electronic home. I’m thrilled to be a part of the outstanding team that is solving huge problems for consumers and helping to drive faster adoption of new technologies in the home by making them easy to use.”

Sculley’s consistent ability to identify and exploit technology trends and consumer demands has earned him the titles of “Marketing Man of the Year” by Advertising Age and AdWeek magazines as well as “CEO of the Decade” by Financial News Network. “We are exceptionally pleased to have John join the other distinguished members of our Board,” said Dan Gittleman, Chairman and CEO of OpenPeak. “John’s considerable business development skills, global management experience and consumer marketing insight will be invaluable to OpenPeak and our business partners.”

At Apple, Sculley helped the company become a Silicon Valley legend, growing from under $600 million in revenues to more than $8 billion during his time with the company. At Pepsi, he led the global beverage and food giant to the number one position in the soft drink market at the time – eclipsing Coca-Cola in the U.S. as measured by A.C. Nielsen – and launched the company’s international food division. Currently, Sculley is co-founder of several successful businesses, a frequent speaker at global industry forums and co-host of an annual technology conference.

Other outside members of OpenPeak’s Board of Directors include:
§ Mort Topfer, Managing Director of Castletop Capital in Austin, Texas. Previously, he was Vice Chairman of Dell Inc., Corporate Executive Vice President of Motorola, Inc., and President of Motorola Land Mobile Products Sector.
§ J. Tomilson Hill III, Vice Chairman of The Blackstone Group, and President and Chief Executive Officer of the Marketable Alternative Investments group in New York. Previously, he was Co-CEO of Lehman Brothers, and Co-President and Co-COO of Shearson Lehman Brothers Holding Inc.
§ Joachim Gfoeller Jr., Managing General Partner of GMG Capital Partners, L.P. in New York. Previously, he was a Founding Partner of Stolberg Partners and Vice President of Weiss, Peck & Greer.
