WirelessDevNet.com Press Release
QUALCOMM and CMP Media Open Nominations for 2004 3G cdmA-List Awards
SAN DIEGO, July 14 -- QUALCOMM Incorporated
(Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access
(CDMA) digital wireless technology, and CMP Media, a leading integrated media
company serving the technology and healthcare industries, today announced a
call for nominations for the second annual 3G cdmA-List(TM) Awards. The
program, sponsored by QUALCOMM and presented by CMP, will honor the most
innovative and successful commercially deployed and commercially available
enterprise wireless data solutions based on third-generation (3G) CDMA2000 1X
or 1xEV-DO technology. The A-List Awards will judge a nominee's wireless data
implementation based on creativity and innovation, overall business impact,
and quantifiable return-on-investment (ROI).
The awards program is open to companies of all sizes in various stages of
deployment and using an array of devices, including PC cards, PDAs,
smartphones, telemetry modules and phones. Companies in industries ranging
from utilities and public safety to pharmaceuticals and insurance are
encouraged to apply. A panel of distinguished judges will select A-List
winners. Judges include: Andrew M. Seybold, president of Andrew Seybold
Group; Mark Desautels, vice president of the Wireless Internet Caucus at CTIA;
Iain Gillott, president of iGillottResearch; Joseph Braue, vice
president/director at CMP Integrated Marketing Solutions; and Jan Dehesh, vice
president, enterprise market development for QUALCOMM.
Winners will be recognized at a private reception in San Francisco on
October 25, 2004, at CTIA Wireless IT(R) & Entertainment 2004. Prizes for A-
List winners include airfare, accommodations, dining and entertainment in San
Francisco. Winners will also receive widespread company exposure in leading
information technology, wireless and trade publications.
"Companies that implement wireless programs within their businesses are
enjoying distinct advantages over their competition," said Dehesh. "The cdmA-
List Awards honor those companies that have mobilized their workforces with 3G
CDMA, enhanced the quality of their businesses and advanced their industries.
This year we are also looking for nominees who have deployed wireless mobility
solutions based on CDMA2000 1xEV-DO, which has been commercially available in
Washington, D.C. and San Diego since October 2003."
