Linktone to Offer 2004 Olympic News Services to Mobile Users in China Through IVR Platform

SHANGHAI, China, July 15 -- Linktone Ltd. (Nasdaq: LTON), a leading provider of wireless value-added services in China, today announced that it has obtained the rights from China National Radio Channel I, the leading news channel in China, to provide the network's audio news coverage of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games to Chinese mobile users through Linktone's interactive voice response (IVR) platform. Linktone was the only wireless service partner selected for this particular service. The new service further enriches Linktone's 2004 Olympics offerings, which cross multiple platforms such as SMS, MMS and WAP, and include news and score updates, picture downloads, sports-related games, sports star profiles and community chat services.

Under its agreement with China National Radio, Linktone will customize and aggregate the audio news coverage of the Olympics from China National Radio Channel I and distribute it through a dedicated channel on Linktone's IVR platform. Mobile users can call Linktone's special IVR service number, and select and listen to coverage of games of interest.

''China's young mobile generation has always shown a great passion for sports,'' said Raymond Yang, chief executive officer of Linktone. ''Our goal is not only to provide basic updates of Olympic activities via our IVR system, but also to leverage our capabilities as a multi-platform service provider to offer users an even richer experience through text messages, color images, WAP surfing and audio clips.

Min Shi, deputy editor-in-chief at China National Radio Channel I, said, ''In addition to our normal audio programs, we would like to bring more value to our audience by working with companies like Linktone, which have strong technology, in-depth product development know-how and a leading market position in the wireless value-added service space. We believe that our audience will enjoy the delivery of our content through a convenient mobile distribution platform such as Linktone's IVR system.
