Blue Marble Adds 4MationGeo's Low-Cost Pocket PC Software for Field Data Collection to Product Offer
Gardiner, ME and Seattle, WA -- Blue Marble Geographics (www.bluemarblegeo.com) announced today that it has signed an agreement with 4MationGeo, Inc. (www.4mationgeo.com) to sell iSync Mobile 2.1, field data collection software for Windows CE and the Pocket PC. This field-proven product enables Blue Marble to provide its worldwide customer base with an easy-to-use, mobile solution for collecting spatial information.
“In the past, geographical information systems (GIS) were used almost exclusively by specialized users. However, as the market for GIS has broadened, a need for an easy-to-use, affordable field data collection solution has developed,” said Patrick Cunningham, President of Blue Marble. “By adding iSync Mobile to our product suite, we are showing our commitment to offering innovative products that reflect the growing needs of our customers. ”
iSync Mobile 2.1 is a mobile mapping software solution that allows users to collect GPS coordinates and associate relevant data with the coordinates on a hand held device. The software uses customizable data-entry forms with dropdown menus to help users enter data in a consistent format. A moving map display, which supports background imagery, makes it easy for the field worker to visualize their location. Data can be stored in XML or other industry-standard formats, allowing it to be integrated with other GIS software systems. Priced at $250 for a single copy, 4MationGeo’s iSync Mobile 2.1 is available for sale through Blue Marble’s website and reseller network.
