Telenor Satellite Services and Global Relief Technologies Forge Strategic Business Alliance

Telenor Satellite Services and Global Relief Technologies LLC (GRT) of Portsmouth, NH, today announced the formation of a strategic business alliance, including equity investment by Telenor Satellite Services.

Telenor Satellite Services, Inc. is the Rockville, Maryland-based mobile satellite services subsidiary of Norwegian telecommunications corporation Telenor ASA, listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (TEL) and NASDAQ (TELN).

Under this exclusive agreement, Telenor Satellite Services will bundle GRT's data collection and information management solution into its current mobile satellite service offerings available worldwide to organizations engaged in global remote field activities such as humanitarian relief, security, and reconstruction.

"GRT is very excited by this latest development in our evolving relationship with Telenor," commented Michael Gray, founder and CEO of GRT. "This agreement clearly reflects the natural synergy between the world's preferred provider of mobile satellite communications to the humanitarian community and GRT's unique data collection and analysis approach, which enables more effective crisis and relief management."

Global Relief Technologies' solution combines handheld PDA survey applications for field workers, GIS mapping imagery and near real-time GPS tracking with a web-based information management center, or VNOC (Virtual Network Operations Center) for data hosting, analysis and reporting. The data are transmitted to and from the PDA via mobile satellite terminals.

"Telenor Satellite Services sees a logical fit between the respective missions of the two companies," said Britt Carina Horncastle, President of Telenor Satellite Services, Holdings, Inc. "GRT's unique approach to remote information management, combined with Telenor's industry-leading reliability and portfolio of enhanced value-added services, offer the highest quality of communications services and support for humanitarian, relief management and reconstruction clients around the world."

Global Relief Technologies LLC was founded in March 2003 to provide clients in the humanitarian and reconstruction communities with a secure, integrated solution that ensures more effective response to, and management of, global crisis situations. The company is headquartered in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with its principal Sales and Marketing presence located in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
