Kayak Interactive Powers Mobile Multiplayer Games on BREW™-Enabled Handsets
SAN DIEGO — June 8, 2004 — Kayak Interactive, dedicated to making multiplayer gaming a reality in the mobile entertainment industry, announces that it is delivering cross-network multiplayer game play capabilities between BREW-enabled handsets. Support for in-game, multiplayer capabilities to BREW-enabled phones is expected to significantly grow the market for multiplayer wireless games. Kayak Interactive's platform delivers this exchange across networks, handsets and international boundaries, allowing mobile gamers all over the world to download and compete against each other in dynamic multiplayer games. The removal of barriers between networks and handsets is helping to set the stage for rapid expansion for mobile multiplayer gamers in 2004.
Most recently, Kayak Interactive showcased its multiplayer game play capabilities at a well-known annual gaming conference with a PubPool Tournament, which featured an eight-player single-elimination tournament with members of the mobile entertainment community competing across networks. The event demonstrated the functionality and the possibilities of multiplayer game play.
